During the last 9 years, I have worked on portraying the families of fishermen and water connoisseurs, who have inhabited the Cienaga Grande of Santa Marta, since 1847, when the main town, El Morro, was founded, after a long journey of people through different areas of the lagoon complex. I lived close to the people of the village, living their stories and their relationship with water and life, with their intimacy and everyday life. I immersed myself in this place as a means to discover the complex ways in which we relate to nature in order to subsist and in that confusing way of work, I found a reflection that underlies all of us, a finite human time and an incomprehensible geological space, transforming and constant. It was in the desire to reflect on our relationship with nature, where I tried to build a broad freedom to narrate it from different fields of research and creation.
DULCE Y SALADA, is a project that transits human time and geological time, in a physical space that, floating, lives between the crude reality of subsistence and a dense darkness in an ecological context that gives no truce and seeks without stopping to remind us of our limited human time.

Durante los últimos 9 años, he trabajado en retratar a las familias de pescadores y conocedores del agua, que han habitado la Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta, desde 1847, momento en que se funda el poblado principal: El Morro, luego de un largo recorrido de las personas por distintas zonas del complejo lagunar. Conviví cercanamente a las personas del poblado, viviendo sus historias y su relación con el agua y con la vida, con suintimidad y cotidianidad. Me sumergí en este lugar como medio para descubrirlas complejas formas como nos relacionamos con la naturaleza para subsistir yen ese confuso camino de trabajo, encontré un reflexión que subyace a todos nosotros, un finito tiempo humano y un incomprensible espacio geológico, transformador y constante. Fue en el deseo de reflexionar sobre nuestra relación con la naturaleza, donde intente construir una amplia libertad para narrarla desde distintos campos de investigación y creación.
DULCE Y SALADA, es un proyecto quetransita el tiempo humano y el tiempo geológico, en un espacio físico que, flotante, vive entre la cruda realidad de la subsistencia y una densa oscuridad en un contexto ecológico que no da tregua y busca sin parar recordarnos nuestro limitado tiempo humano.
